April 22 - Damien Seguin is searching for his fifth World Cup win in Hyères ©Getty Images French Para-sailors are showing good form on home waters at Hyères with Damien Seguin leading the way in the 2.4mR class while Bruno Jourdren, Nicolas Vimont Vicary and Eric Flageul are tied for top spot in the Sonar class with the British trio.

Seguin began the second day of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) World Cup event sitting just behind overnight leader Jens Kroeger of Germany, and the two sailors were at the forefront of competition once again with both registering one race win apiece.

The Frenchman finished second to Kroger in the opening race but in the second the German finished down in fourth meaning Seguin tops the standings so far.

Britain's World Championship bronze medallist Megan Pascoe sits behind Kroeger after a second and third in her two races, while compatriot and London 2012 champion Helena Lucas improved her overall position from sixth to fourth.

There is also fierce competition in the Sonar class as the French and British crews battle for supremacy.

Jourden, Vicary and Flaguel secured victory in the opening race of the day ahead of the British but finished second behind John Robertson, Hannah Stodel and Steve Thomas in the following race, leaving both teams tied for the lead on five points.

"It was a left-sided course for most of the day, the breeze was up and down quite a lot and there were choppy seas but we managed to put a couple of good results on the board," said Thomas afterwards.

"I think it's about consistency and putting consistent performances in, and slowly getting better."

A sixth and a third in today's races has Australians Colin Harrison, John Harris and Russell Boaden in the bronze medal position going into the next stage of racing.

Competition in Hyères runs until Saturday (April 26).
