Masters was runner-up in the women's 12 kilometres cross country sitting event in Sochi, while McFadden, second-place finisher in the women's 1km cross country sprint sitting class, has enjoyed skiing success in addition to her dominance in her main sport of athletics.

The duo are joined on the team by fellow Sochi 2014 Paralympians Omar Bermejo, Dan Cnossen, Sean Halstead, Augusto Perez, Aaron Pike, Bryan Price and Andy Soule.

More than 150 athletes from 20 countries are expected to compete at the Championships, which are scheduled to take place in the US for the third time from January 24 to February 1.

"We have a great team of athletes who have taken a very professional approach to training and building upon last season," said US Nordic head coach, Eileen Carey.

"We are thrilled to get another chance to test out some of our training and racing strategies, ultimately focused on improving in each race.

"Having the opportunity to do that on home snow is a great bonus for us."

McFadden returns to Nordic skiing action having successfully defended her wheelchair marathon grand slam last year.

In 2013, she became the first athlete, able-bodied or disabled, to win the Boston, London, Chicago and New York races in the same year.

Masters, who also claimed a bronze medal in the 5km sitting event in Sochi, comes into the Championships full of confidence having won three medals at the IPC Nordic Skiing World Cup opener in Vuokatti, Finland last month.

The 25-year-old won gold in the 1km cross country sprint sitting, and silvers in the 6km biathlon sitting and the 5km cross country sitting.

"I raced in Cable for my first World Cup, a few weeks after I started skiing in 2013," she said.

"It will be a good challenge for me to see what I have learned since then.

"And hopefully I'll come out of it with fewer broken poles."

Soule, a bronze medallist in the biathlon pursuit sitting at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympics, heads the men's team, while Cnossen will fancy his chances having won the short and sprint cross country sitting races at the US Paralympics Nordic Skiing Nationals last week in Midway, Utah. 

Cable has hosted international Nordic skiing events in recent years, including IPC World Cups in 2012 and 2013.

"We are thrilled about the rare opportunity to race in the World Championships at home," said John Farra, high performance director for US Paralympics Nordic skiing.

"Central Cross Country [Ski Association] skiing and the Cable Organising Committee have invested a great deal to hold two great World Cups and now a World Championships event, and we are thrilled to bring them a strong Team USA."
