Cleaning solutions giants Kärcher Brazil have been appointed as the latest official supplier of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The company's equipment will be used in all "cleaning environments" and arenas involved in competitions such as the Maracanã Stadium, the Aquatics Center Deodoro, the Sambadrome archery venue and the main Athletes' Village in Barra de Tijuca.

More than 1,000 machines will be provided as part of the deal, including high pressure washers, automatic equipment for cleaning floors, vacuum cleaners for various operations, multi-functional systems for cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and large sweeping systems for outdoor use.

Training will also be given to those people due to operate the equipment.

"This is a special moment for Kärcher," said Kärcher Brazil director Abilio Cepêra.

"In addition to the commercial brand awareness and positioning as a company of complete solutions for cleaning, we also show how it can change the environment in which we live, either through manpower training, helping citizens in a replacement in the market, or by means of saving resources."

As with all other suppliers, company branding will be displayed on billboards, while Kärcher will also be able to promote the Olympic branding.

They were involved in their first Olympics at London 2012, where they were sub-contracted to help with the cleaning.

They then made their debut as a supplier at Sochi 2014, the role they will reprise next summer in the Brazilian city.

Kärcher has much experience in cleaning operations in public spaces, including in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, and at the London Eye.

"We have a huge range of customers, ranging from the consumer who wants to wash the car over the weekend to large machines that make cleaning industries," added Cepêra.

"Then we sell to traditional retail to direct sales to large industrial."
