SPORTELAsia has revealed its company shortlist for this year’s convention, scheduled to take place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore from March 15 to 17.

French cable television channel Canal+ and the Professional Golfers Association Tour are among the companies that will be represented at the three-day conference.

Liga ACB, the Spanish basketball league, has also signed up, along with Japanese international advertising and public relations company, Dentsu Inc, and Major League Baseball.

SPORTEL conventions gather top level executives from all over the world, representing sports networks, international sports federations, sports marketing agencies, production companies, sports content right owners and distributors, technology and new media.

The objective of the 2016 SPORTELAsia convention, which has a slogan of "meet the elite", is to offer an interactive platform for cross continental business opportunities and to determine the future of sports media in Asia.

SPORTELAsia 2014 was held in Shanghai, with Miami in the United States staging the 2015 SPORTELAmerica convention.

Representatives from ESPN, Eurosport, the International Equestrian Federation, Fox Sports, the German Football Association, Infront Sports and Media, insidethegames.biz, NASCAR, the National Football League, the World Baseball Softball Confederation and World Wrestling Entertainment all attended the event in 2015.

The main SPORTEL event takes place each year in Monaco, with last year’s convention held at Monte Carlo’s Grimaldi Forum in October.

More than 2,700 people attended last year’s edition, with 994 companies from 75 countries represented.
