China won four semi-final clashes today at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Thailand Masters Grand Prix Gold in Bangkok, remaining in the hunt for three of the five titles on offer tomorrow.

Fourth-seed Sun Yu is the only Chinese singles player to have made it through, overcoming Thailand's Busanan Ongbumrung 21-16, 21-11 in a match that lasted 52 minutes and was closer than the scoreline suggested.

She will play another home player in the final tomorrow, Ratchanok Intanon, who beat South Korea's Sung Ju Hyun 21-15, 22-20.

Two Chinese pair will face off in the women's doubles final, with third seeds Zhao Yunlei and Tian Qing inflicting more woe on South Korea with victory over Jung Kyung Eun and Shin Seung Chang, 21-10, 21-17.

Yu Yang and Tang Yuanting then beat Malaysia's Vivian Kah Hoo and Khe Wei Woon, 21-11, 21-11.

World junior champions Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen also made it through in the mixed doubles competition with a thumping 21-18, 21-14 win over Thai pair Bodin Issara and Savitree Amitrapai.

They are now due to face Malaysian pairChan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying in the final.

Both men's events will have no Chinese players in the finals, however, with Zheng Siwei and Huang Kaixiang losing out to South Korean second seeds Kim Sa Rang and Kim Gi Jung, 21-19, 21-15.

They will now face top seeded Indonesians Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan, who overcame South Korea's Ko Sung Hyun and Shin Baek Cheol 21-15, 13-21, 21-18.

It will be South Korea against Hong Kong in the men's singles final.

Top-seed Lee Hyun Il beat Tanongsak Saensomboo 21-11, 21-11 before third-ranked Hu Yun upset second-seed Son Wan-Ho, 11-21, 24-22, 21-16 in an epic match lasting more than an hour.
