Argentina Condors made short work of Rafako Hussars Poland to move joint-top of Group C in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) rankings.

Devastating performances from the Condors’ opening trio of boxers meant a late rally from Poland was in vain as the contest in Buenos Aires ended 3-2.

Victory extends Argentina’s winning start to Season VI to two matches and sets up a top-of-the-table clash against the Russian Boxing Team in week seven.

Argentinian light flyweight Junior Zarate, a fixture of the national team since 2007, set the hosts on the right path as he avenged a Season V defeat at the hands of Poland’s Dawid Jagodzinski with a unanimous points win over his rival.

Bantamweight Elias Gonzalez then controlled the second bout of the night against Rafako Hussars’ 19-year-old WSB debutant Adrian Kowal, and Sanchez Sanchez put the match beyond doubt after overcoming the challenge of Polish national light welterweight champion Mateusz Kostecki in a thrilling encounter.

Poland refused to lie down though, and middleweight legend Tomasz Jablonski was the man to steady the ship with a comprehensive win over Argentina's WSB debutant Joaquin Lingua.

Already qualified for Rio 2016, Jablonski was in ruthless form with Lingua content to get five rounds of high-level international experience under his belt.

Another of Poland’s big-hitters then ensured the visitors went home with what could be a vital point in the context of the group qualification race.

Igor Jakubowski made the most of his clear physical advantage over Argentina’s heavyweight stand-in Dario Alcapan, who was eventually disqualified in the fourth round.

The night's other encounter in Group C saw the Russian Boxing Team follow up their season-opening win in Poland by beating Caciques de Venezuela 3-2 in Vargas.

Defeat for their South American opponents means they now have a win and two defeats from their opening three contests.

Another team experiencing plenty of joy on the road is last season’s WSB runners-up Cuba Domadores, who eased to their second away win of the new campaign with a 5-0 victory against the China Dragons in Chongqing.

The Cubans will next travel to Kyiv at the end of the month for week seven’s top-of-the-table clash against Ukraine Otamans, while China will be looking to register their first Group A win against Turkiye Conquerors.

WSB action is due to resume on Thursday (February 18) when the British Lionhearts go up against Mexico Guerreros in Group B.
