The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has launched a brand new website ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics

Innovative digital agency Skylab were appointed by the ITTF to create a bespoke website and a range of digital assets ahead of the Games.

Having won a competitive tender in January, Skylab worked with the Singapore-based world governing body on a host of new digital requirements to modernise the ITTF's online presence.

The ITTF required a "flexible solution" that included revised editorial and content curation, a fit-for-purpose content management system (CMS) and a new digital visual language that enhanced the ITTF brand.

“So far, so good working with Skylab," said Matt Pound, the ITTF's promotion and media manager.

"They have a very professional team working on the massive job of creating the new website, which will be a state-of-the-art responsive site to service the millions of worldwide table tennis fans."

Skylab's Managing Director, Nigel Collier, added: “The International Table Tennis Federation wanted an innovative agency who could deliver their specific requirements ahead of the Olympics.

"Our in-house team have delivered the first phase of the new site which includes an open source CMS and simplified information architecture.

"We are developing for live results, rankings and player data which will be integrated across the whole ITTF site for fans, players and officials and an evolving road map will see key features released every month.”
