The event will gather top level executives from a wide range of firms, including broadcasters, television networks, international sports federations, marketing agencies, production companies, rights owners and satellite providers.

Europe’s Olympic broadcaster Eurosport and German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are among those who are set to participate at the event, scheduled to be held from March 14 to 16 at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel.

Several International Federations are also likely to attend the conference in the American city, including the worldwide governing bodies of judo, gymnastics, tennis and baseball/softball.

American sporting organisations are set to have a strong presence in the convention hall, with the National Basketball Association, Major League Soccer and the Ultimate Fighting Championship all registered for the event.

SPORTEL sales and marketing agent David Jones said in October, following the conclusion of SPORTELMonaco, that he expects the themes of e-sports and virtual reality to dominate the event in Miami in March.

"I expect SPORTELAmerica to be really interesting because of the new technologies which are coming in now, especially virtual reality," he said.

Organisers will be hoping to build on the momentum of last year’s edition of SPORTELMonaco, which was attended by over 200 more people than the 2015 convention.

Jones claimed there had been around 3,000 attendees to the 2016 conference - over 200 more than the 2,786 which gathered in Monte Carlo in October of last year.
