Uzbekistan's Sadriddin Saymatov continued his sublime start to the Karate 1-Premier League season by claiming the men's under-60 kilograms title on finals day in Dubai.

The 19-year-old was also victorious in the opening two events of the campaign in Paris and Rotterdam, after wins over Malaysia's Senthilkumaran Selvarajoo and Latvia's Kalvis Kalnins respectively.

He made it three in a row today with an 8-5 success over Aykut Kaya of Turkey in the final at the Al Wasl Sports Club.

The men's under-60kg bronze medallists were Iran's Amir Mehdizadeh and Turkey's Eray Samdan.

Saeid Ali Pour of Iran beat Dionysios Xenos of Greece to the under-67kg crown as Saudi Arabia's Bader Alotaibi and Turkey's Muhammet Ali Yilmaz came away with the bronze medals.

The United States' team captain Thomas Scott was victorious in the under-75kg event after a silver medal in Rotterdam last month.

The American saw off world bronze medallist Luigi Busa of Italy 3-1.

Stanislav Horuna of Ukraine and Erman Eltemur of Turkey shared the bronze medals.

Croatia's Ivan Kvesic produced the shock of the tournament earlier in the competition on his way to securing gold in the under-84kg division.

Kvesic defeated Japan's Ryutaro Araga in the quarter-finals, which was the Japanese's first defeat in just under two years.

The Croatian built on that momentous win by clinching gold with a 4-3 win over Ilya Granovesov of Russia in the final.

Bronze medals were won by Belarus' Anton Isakau and Georgios Tzanos of Greece.

Sajad Ganjzadeh of Iran proved too strong for the rest of the field in the over-84kg competition as he saw off Gogita Arkania of Georgia 3-1, while the bronze medals were collected by Andjelo Kvesic of Croatia and Turkey's Alparslan Yamanoglu.

Japan's Ayumi Uekusa claimed her second consecutive gold medal in the Premier League this year.

The reigning world champion secured the title in the women's kumite over-68kg division last month in Rotterdam and defeated Aleksandra Stubleva in today's final.

Bronze medals were awarded to Maya Wasowicz of the United States and Switzerland's Ramona Bruederlin.

The four other individual women's kumite finals saw Austria's world bronze medallist Bettina Plank defeat Serap Ozcelik of Turkey in the under-50kg final, Iran's Fatemeh Chalaki see off Valeria Finashkina of Russia in the under-55kg, Ukraine's Anita Serogina overcame Ingrida Suchankova of Slovakia in the under-61kg and Azerbaijan's Iryna Zaretska defeat Elena Quirici of Switzerland in the under-68kg final.

Spanish star Damian Quintero breezed to victory in the men's kata event with a dominant performance against Turkey's Ali Sofouglu.

The world number one, who was last season's Karate 1-Premier League grand winner, claimed an impressive 5-0 win.

The men’s team kata podium was headed by Italy, with Spain second and France and Iran third.

In the women's kata competition, European champion Sandra Sanchez of Spain saw off Indonesia's Aprilia Krisda Putri, who was bidding to claim her first-ever Karate 1-Premier League title, 5-0.

Italy were also victorious in the women’s team kata event, taking the gold medal after defeating Spain 5-0 in the final.

The bronze medals were won by Turkey and Croatia.
