Six countries will battle it out for a spot at the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Men's Water Polo World League Super Final at an Intercontinental Tournament which begins tomorrow.

Hosts Australia will welcome China, Japan, Kazakhstan, New Zealand and the United States to the Gold Coast Aquatics Centre.

The four best teams following round robin play will qualify for the Super Final, where they will join European countries Serbia, Croatia and Italy.

Russia, who will host the Super Final in Ruza, have been given an automatic berth in the eight team field.

Tomorrow's first games see Australia take on New Zealand, Japan meet the US and China play Kazakhstan.

Round robin matches will be played over five consecutive days, before classification matches take place on Sunday (April 30).

Serbia are the defending Super Final champions after beating the US 10-7 in Huizhou in China.

The European country also currently hold both the Olympic and world titles.  

Gold Coast is also the host of next year's Commonwealth Games.
