France’s Gregory Gaultier has reached the number one spot in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) men’s world rankings for the sixth time in his career.

He leaped over Egyptian Karim Abdel Gawad into the highest position on the table after successes in the Grasshopper Cup in Zurich, Switzerland, and Bellevue Classic in the United States during May.

In doing so, he has also broken his own record for the oldest number one, with his new mark at 34 years and five months.

It is also the fourth month in a row that the top spot has seen a different face sitting there.

The biggest climber within the top 10 is Egyptian Ali Farag as he went from eighth to fifth after finishing second at the Grasshopper Cup and Bellevue Classic.

Nour El Sherbini has stayed in first place for the 14th consecutive month in the women’s world rankings.

The Egyptian is ahead of her compatriot Raneem El Weilly while France’s Camille Serme is third.

In the latest rankings, there was only one change to the top 10 as Hong Kong’s Annie Au moved up a place to 10th.
