Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) President Ben Nunoo-Mensah spoke to members of the country’s team heading to The Bahamas for the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games.

Nunoo-Mensah met with a group heading out to the Caribbean island just before they got on their flight from Kotoko International Airport in Accra.

Talking to the young athletes, the GOC President told them to do their best in The Bahamas.

He also told the group to make their country proud.

“The young boys and girls who were specially and carefully selected on merit are capable of bringing home laurels, though they are going to face other upcoming great stars in the making,” Nunoo-Mensah said.

Ghana have athletes featuring in seven disciplines at the Games with a squad of 14 flying over.

Their team members will feature in athletics, swimming, boxing, tennis, cycling, judo and beach volleyball.
