Argentina’s Millenium team came out on top in the artistic precision event on day seven of the 2017 International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS) World Roller Games in Chinese city Nanjing.

A score of 130.300 points was enough to secure the South Americans' victory at the Wutaishan Gymnasium.

They produced an extremely dynamic performance with a long programme containing good intersection elements, no hold elements and a travelling element.

Second place went to Italy’s Precision Team Albinea with 124.100 points.

Sincro Roller, another Italian outfit, claimed the bronze medal with 121.700 points.

There was also inline Alpine action today at the Jubaoshan Sports Park, where Latvia’s Kristaps Zvejnieks and Germany’s Mona Sing won the respective men’s and women’s slalom events.

Zvejnieks triumphed with an overall two-run time of 58.96sec, beating nearest challenger Marco Walz of Germany by 0.32 seconds.

Walz’s compatriot Sven Ortel was a further 0.12 seconds back in third.

In the women’s event, Sing led a German podium sweep with a time of 1:02.46.

Claudia Wittmann was just 0.01 seconds behind in the runners-up spot, while Manuela Schmohl was 0.15 seconds off the pace in third.

Italy and Chinese Taipei both beat Australia today in the junior women’s inline hockey competition to ensure first and second place respectively in the standings.

The Italians won 6-1 to move onto 14 points, while Chinese Taipei prevailed 10-0 to reach 13 points.

Tomorrow’s final will be contested between the two nations at the Youth Olympic Sports Park.

New Zealand, 15-2 winners over India today, will face Australia in the bronze medal match.

France and Spain are the finalists in the junior men’s competition in which the placement matches for fifth position downwards were played today.

Sweden defeated Colombia 6-0 in the fifth-place play-off.

Battling for the bronze medal tomorrow will be Italy and Czech Republic.

In the senior women’s event, there were Pool A victories today for defending champions Canada and Italy.

Canada overcame South Korea 16-0, while Italy edged Australia 2-1.

The FIRS World Roller Games are taking place for the first time in one city, seeing the World Championships of 10 roller disciplines take place simultaneously.

It is due to be held until September 10 and will feature different competitions held at indoor and outdoor facilities.
