Mingorance’s advantage is only a narrow one, with Germany’s Simon Gegenheimer lying just one point behind.

Gegenheimer was able to close the gap on his rival by triumphing at the fifth round of the series at Apeldoorn in The Netherlands.

It was his second victory of the season, having also finished on top of the podium in Waregem.

Lizzy Witlox leads the overall women’s standings, having achieved a total of 140 points from the season.

The Dutchwoman’s results have include one win and two second place finishes.
