South Korea claimed the team title as the International Fencing Federation Men's Épée World Cup came to a close in Heidenheim in Germany.

The South Korean side overcame France 45-41 in a hard-fought final to finish at the summit of the podium in the German town.

South Korea had comfortably dispatched Switzerland 45-33 in the last four to book their place in the tournament's showpiece encounter.

France secured their final berth with a 45-35 win over Russia.

In the third and fourth place play-off, Switzerland got the better of their Russian opponents with a 45-35 triumph.

European Championships team gold medallist Martina Criscio sealed the individual honours at the women's Sabre World Cup in Baltimore in the United States.

Criscio was made to work hard in a tense final but eventually got past Japan's Misaki Emura with a 15-11 win.

The Italian had dispatched Sarah Noutcha of France 15-10 in her semi-final.

Noutcha's compatriot Charlotte Lembach also suffered semi-final agony as she was beaten 15-14 by Emura.
