South Korea won six out of the seven gold medals on offer as they dominated the final day of the World Taekwondo Beach Championships at the Nautical Club in Rhodes.

Four of the country’s victories came in technical breaking events, while the other two came in the dynamic kicks events.

Among the technical breaking gold medallists was Park Seung Jin, winner of the men's high kick performance event with a mark of 265 centimetres.

Spain’s Miguel Barreiro Estevez finished second with 255cm, while Thailand’s Chawalit Khopana came third with 240cm.

There was also technical breaking success for South Korea in the jumping multiple kick and spinning kick events through Seo Jae Won and Jang Jong Pil respectively.

Seo prevailed with a score of 92 points as Turkey’s Gülsena Karakuyulu finished second with 85 and Denmark’s Jesper Kragh Jeppesen came third with 79.667.

Jang, meanwhile, produced a score of 155.333 points to beat nearest challenger Manuel Alejandro Paz Romero of Spain by a margin of 47.

Paz Romero’s compatriot Adrian Ventin Santos finished a further 4.666 points behind in third.

South Korea’s one other technical breaking triumph came in the freestyle breaking event, which saw Kim Min Song post an unrivalled score of 86.667 points.

Barreiro Estevez finished second with 86 points, while fellow Spaniard Adrian Alonso Simon rounded out the podium with 80.333.

In the dynamic kicks events, Lee Chan Min and Choe Han Na won the respective men’s and women’s individual competitions.

Lee led a South Korean podium sweep with Kim Kyu Young taking the silver medal and Park Sung Sik and Lee Chang Gi coming away with the bronzes.

Choe beat Russia’s Anastasiia Sumenkova to the women’s individual gold medal.

Turkey’s Kübra Dağlı and Russia’s Maria Kholodnova were the bronze medallists.

Dagli was the only non-South Korean gold medallist today having also won the women's high kick performance event with a mark of 210cm.

Thailand’s Pichamon Limpaiboon was the runner-up with 209cm, while fellow countrywoman Sakuna Laosungnoen finished third with 207cm.

Following the medal ceremonies, a closing party was held for all athletes and delegates at the training area.

The event was broadcast live on the Olympic Channel.
