Breda in The Netherlands will host the 37th and last edition of the men's Hockey Champions Trophy from tomorrow.

The six-team tournament, which features the champions of the sport's biggest prizes, will take place until July 1 at BH & BC Breda.

Whoever prevails will be the final champions as the International Hockey Federation has axed both the men's and women's Champions Trophy tournaments in favour of its new home and away Hockey Pro League competition.

Australia will defend their title in Breda and also begin the event as the reigning World Cup and World League champions.

They will be joined by hosts The Netherlands and Rio 2016 Olympic champions Argentina.

Three other countries were invited by the FIH Executive Board to make up the numbers - Belgium, India and Pakistan.

Every side will play each other in a round-robin format with the top two sides progressing to the final.

Fierce rivals India and Pakistan will clash in the opening match tomorrow, with The Netherlands playing Argentina and Belgium meeting Australia.

Tomorrow also sees the start of the second Hockey Series tournament of the season in Singapore.

Teams who have not qualified for the Pro League are contesting the events, which offer places at next year's Hockey Series Finals and provide a path to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Singapore will be joined by Hong Kong, Myanmar, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Indonesia in the men's round robin event.

A women's event will include Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and Kazakhstan.
