Snowboard halfpipe Olympic champion Chloe Kim has become the first woman to land a frontside double cork 1080.

The American pulled off the trick during training in Saas Fe in Switzerland.

It is not the first time 18-year-old Kim has become the first snowboarder to perform a move.

She managed a back-to-back 1080 combo to win her Olympic title at Pyeongchang 2018 in South Korea in February.

This was a poignant victory as Kim's parents are from the host nation.

"With the addition of this new trick it seems safe to say that her status as the queen of the halfpipe world is a lock for the foreseeable future," an International Ski Federation statement said.

Kim is one of the global stars of snowboard and won her Pyeongchang title with a massive 98.25 points.

She also boasts four Winter X-Games gold medals on the superpipe and a pair of Youth Olympic Games titles.

The youngster won in both the halfpipe and slopestyle at Lillehammer 2016.
