Olympic and world champions are part of an all-star cast as the International Judo Federation’s World Tour arrives in the Turkish resort city of Antalya for three days of Grand Prix action due to start tomorrow.

Olympic champions Rafaela Silva of Brazil, Russia’s Khasan Khalmurzaev and Lukáš Krpálek of the Czech Republic will be among the judoka competing in the seventh Tour event of the season at the Antalya Spor Salonu.

Joining them will be world champion An Changrim of South Korea and three-times world champion and double Olympic medallist Yuri Alvear of Colombia.

A total of 485 judoka - 297 men and 188 women - from 75 nations will be taking part in the third edition of the Antalya Grand Prix, the final IJF competition before April’s respective continental championships.

Speaking at the draw which took place today at Rixos Downtown, opposite the competition venue, Sezer Huysuz, the Turkish Judo Federation President, welcomed IJF members to the Grand Prix.

"Thank you for coming to our Grand Prix and we hope to have great moments all weekend and next week we look forward to hosting many of you for the Olympic Training Camp," he said. 

Mohamed Meridja, the IJF education and coaching director,  said: "Dear President Huysuz, dear judo fans, dear ladies and gentlemen, I’m honoured to welcome you here to Antalya for the Grand Prix.

"The IJF President Marius Vizer would like to wish his best to the Turkish Judo Federation and all the participants."
