Andrii Doroshenko and Oleksii Denysiuk both claimed gold medals for Ukraine on the opening day of the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in Croatian city Osijek.

Doroshenko was the first of the two shooters to triumph, beating Serbia's Zoran Poucki in the final of the men's 10 metres air rifle standing SH1 event at Streljana Pampas Osijek.

He scored 247.1 points to Poucki's 246.7, with the bronze medal going to India's Swaroop Mahavir Unhalkar on 223.1.

Later in the day, Denysiuk edged out Russia's Andrey Lebedinskiy to win the mixed 25m pistol SH1 final.

He managed a total of 33 points to Lebedinskiy's 25 and the podium was completed by Poland's Szymon Sowinski with 20.

Today's one other gold medallist was three-times Paralympic champion Veronika Vadovičová of Slovakia after she prevailed in the women's 10m air rifle standing SH1 event with 249.5 points.

India's Avani Lekhara was the silver medallist with 248.2 points, while Ukraine's Iryna Shchetnik took the bronze with 226.8.
