The International Ski Federation (FIS) has brought its judging educational courses for its freestyle, freeski and snowboard disciplines online partly due to the travel and social restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now already-certified judges will be able to keep their credentials up to date with a refresher course while the new online platform will also allow new individuals to take the courses and become certified as an official.

It will be the first stage for new judges to make their way up the ranks in FIS freestyle, freeski and snowboard disciplines.

All prospective World Cup and Continental Cup Freestyle Ski judges for the 2020-2021 season have been asked to complete the new courses for their events before November 5, now that the online education platform is online.

"We will continue to work hard to improve the courses offered and add additional ones to make sure we are educating our judges and officials at the highest standards possible," said Freestyle Ski judges coordinator Tina Tanaka Sundeqvist.

The FIS has been busy in the off-season, selecting a host for the 2025 Alpine World Ski Championships, scheduled to be hosted in Saalbach in Austria.

Inspections for the 2021 World Championships are set to be concluded by the end of the year too.

Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy is set to stage the Alpine World Ski Championships, Oberstdorf in Germany the Nordic World Ski Championships and Zhangjiakou in China the Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships.
