Genoa has been announced as the host of the first World Para Dance Sport World Cup of the season.

The Italian city is due to stage competition from Jun 4 to 6.

It will be World Para Dance Sport's first official competition in more than 18 months, should it go ahead.

The 2019 World Championships in Bonn, which came to an end on December 1, remains the last World Para Dance Sport competition to be staged before the coronavirus pandemic disrupted the international calendar.

Last year's European Championships - due to be held at Tower Genova Airport Hotel and Conference Center - were cancelled due to the health crisis.

The same venue is due to stage the World Cup in June.

"We are really happy to be see Genoa hosting an important event this year following the cancellation of the European Championships in 2020," said World Para Dance Sport manager Camila Rodrigues.

"We are looking forward to seeing some of the world’s best athletes in action again."
