Annika Sieff won the provisional competition round (PCR) at the season-opening women's International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic Combined World Cup in Lillehammer.

The 18-year-old Italian jumped 95.0 metres on the Norwegian venue's normal hill - further than any other athlete - for a score of 139.3 points.

The next two skiers were both Norwegians.

Mari Leinan Lund scored 137.0 and Gyda Westvold Hansen 123.8.

Twenty-seven athletes posted a score.

Back-to-back individual competitions are scheduled tomorrow and on Saturday (December 4).

Should ski jumping not be possible tomorrow, the PCR results would be used for the start of the five-kilometre cross-country race.

This is only the second FIS Nordic Combined World Cup season.
