The semi-final had an equally dramatic final end, with the Norwegians scoring three to level the score at 7-7 to force an extra end.

Alina Paetz and Sven Michel eventually booked their place in the gold-medal match, with a score in the extra end giving them an 8-7 victory.

The hosts will meet Scotland's Eve Muirhead and Bobby Lammie, who recorded their 10th consecutive win at the tournament.

The unbeaten Scottish team faced Pia-Lisa Schöll and Klaudius Harsch in the semi-final, after the German duo won their playoff match 11-8 over Sweden earlier in the day.

Muirhead and Lammie maintained their dominant form by winning the semi-final 8-3, with their opponents conceding defeat an end early.

"That was a clinical performance, and we controlled the game," said Muirhead, who skipped Britain to women’s Olympic gold at Beijing 2022.

"I personally didn’t have my best game, but Bobby was outstanding.

"He made lots of crucial shots and made my life easy at the end.

"It’s nice to get to a World Championship final.

"It’s been a very good week so far, so we want to keep it going for tomorrow."

Germany and Norway will contest the bronze-medal match tomorrow, following their semi-final defeats.

Spain and Finland suffered relegation after losing playoff matches today.

South Korea overcame Spain 8-5 to preserve their status in the top division, while England beat Finland 6-3.
