The American, the boulder world champion and last season's World Cup winner, has won back-to-back events in Seoul and Salt Lake City, and is likely to be the climber to beat in the women's event at Pioneer Park.

Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Miho Nonaka of Japan finished on the podium for the first time this season last week in Salt Lake City with her third-place finish in the boulder event, and is set to challenge once again.

In the men's boulder competition, 18-year-old French athlete Mejdi Schalck broke the Japanese domination of the World Cup so far this season with his maiden triumph.

Narasaki Tomoa and Fujii Kokoro, gold medallists at the ISFC World Cups in Meiringen and Seoul respectively, will hope for a return to the podium.

Fresh from setting speed world records at the World Cup in Seoul, Indonesia's Kiromal Katibin Indonesia and Poland's Aleksandra Miroslaw won the men's and women's competitions respectively in Salt Lake City last Friday (May 20).

Katibin clocked 5.17sec in Seoul, while Miroslaw set the world record at 6.64.

Competition at the fourth leg of this season's IFSC World Cup is due to begin with the speed qualifications and finals tomorrow, followed by the men's and women's boulder qualifications on Saturday (May 28), and the semi-finals and finals on Sunday (May 29).

Brixen in Italy is scheduled to hold the next stage of the boulder World Cup from June 10 to 12, while the next speed event is not scheduled until the end of next month with Villars in Switzerland staging the next leg from June 30 to July 2 alongside lead competition.
