More than 3,100 athletes across 128 teams from 30 countries are due to participate with the open, women's and mixed team events due to be staged throughout the competition at Mason High School.

The first day is expected to begin with the second part of the WFDF Annual Congress, following on from today's proceedings, as well as athletes being welcomed by an Opening Ceremony and the first match in the women's tournament between Canadian team Traffic and Japanese side MUD. 

The regular competition is scheduled to run until Friday (July 29) and each final is pencilled in for the next day in addition to the Closing Ceremony.

It is the third major competition for the sport in recent weeks following the WFDF World Masters Ultimate Championships in Limerick and The World Games in Birmingham.
