Lewis had become interim CANOC President in 2016 after Steve Stoute of Barbados stepped down.

He was confirmed in the post the following year.

Jamaican Christopher Samuda and Keith Joseph of St Vincent and the Grenadines have both declared their candidacy for the post which carries a four-year term.

Samuda has been Jamaica Olympic Association President since 2017 and also leads the Jamaica Paralympic Association too.

Joseph is currently CANOC secretary general and has also served on the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Executive Board.

Lewis, who stood down as Trinidad and Tobago National Olympic Committee President earlier this year, stands for CANOC secretary general.

His challenger for the post is Cliff Williams, Antigua and Barbuda Olympic Committee secretary since 2010.

There are two candidates for the position of vice-president.

United States Virgin Islands Olympic Committee secretary John Abramson has been a CANOC Executive Board member for the last four years.

Double sailing Olympian Carson Ebanks, a competitor in the Star class in 1984 and 1996 and now Cayman Islands Olympic Committee secretary general is also running.
