Brussels Airport has partnered with the Belgian Paralympic Committee (BPC) while also extending its collaboration with the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC) which has stood since 2016.

Through the partnership, which is set to last for two years for each body, the airport wants to increase the exposure of the country's Paralympians and develop their profiles during Paris 2024.

"We are extremely pleased with the renewal of the cooperation with Brussels Airport," said Cédric Van Branteghem, BOIC chief executive.

"The airport is an important place for athletes, as it is often the starting point for their journey towards international competitions.

"The excellent services and facilities contribute to an optimal preparation and serene mind-set in the final straight.

"The fact that Brussels Airport want to extend this partnership towards the Paralympic athletes shows once again their commitment towards the Belgian athletes community.

"We would therefore like to sincerely thank Brussels Airport for their trust, and we look forward to our continued partnership."

Belgian athletes have won a total of 98 Paralympic medals, of which 27 are gold, 37 silver and 34 bronze, placing the country 25th on the all-time Paralympic Games medals table.

Brussels Airport claims that it shares the values of the BPC and BIOC and wants to capitalise on the Games to help inspire Belgium through the athletes' performances.

"Looking ahead to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, not far from the Belgian capital, Brussels Airport is proud to support the Belgian Olympic and Paralympic team," said Arnaud Feist, chief executive of Brussels Airport Company.

"Brussels Airport and the Belgian athletes have something in common: we are all flag bearers for our country.

"These athletes represent our national pride and convey a positive image of Belgium abroad.

"For Brussels Airport it is an honour to support the development of Belgian sporting talent."
