The Polish Olympic Committee (POK) is to hold workshops to help Olympians make the transition into a life after their sporting careers.

Athletes who are starting to consider retirement or have called time on their careers no more than three years ago are being invited to attend the sessions.

The workshop, entitled "Personal Development of Olympians", is due to be held from March 29 to 31 at the Olympic Center in Polish capital Warsaw.

It will be the fifth edition of the workshops and will be conducted according to the needs of the participants.

"This will be a very popular workshop on 'Personal Development of Olympians' - the aim of which is to find a balance between professional and personal life, to reduce the emotional costs associated with the end of a professional career and to learn practical skills related to professional work after the end of a sports career," a statement from the POK read.

"It will be a very similar programme to the one that took place in previous years, which is why we address this proposal to people who could not participate then."

The workshop is set to be led by Mariusz Bonk, an author in various fields including presentation skills, employee evaluation and stress management, and Karina Sudomir, head and founder of the Wyższe Piętro HR Advisory House, which brings together experts in the areas of human resources, marketing, sales and customer service.
