The International Boxing Association (IBA) has aided athletes from boycotting National Federations at the Men's World Boxing Championships here.

Through the Financial Support Programme (FSP), five athletes from three boycotting countries are competing in Tashkent.

They are Youssef Lazar and Devrim Goekduman from Germany, Oliwier Szot of Poland and Swedes Adam Belalia and Adel Belalia.

Lazar is out of the competition after a 5-0 loss to Andrei Zaplitni of the Republic of Moldova in the heavyweight category.

Meanwhile, his compatriot Goekduman beat Bhupendra Thapa of Nepal 4-1 to set up a round-of-32 clash with Ridwan Ige of Nigeria.

Szot will face Japanese Yuto Wakita in the welterweight round-of-64 and Adel Belalia will battle it out with Saparmyrat Ödäýew of Turkmenistan in the welterweight round-of-32.

Adam Belalia will run into Moreno Fendero of France in the middleweight round-of-32.

At the Women's World Boxing Championships in New Delhi, Megan de Cler of The Netherlands was given assistance and fought under a neutral banner.

According to the IBA, 23 nations benefited from FSP in the Indian capital.

IBA President Umar Kremlev said 50 countries were supported here.

"We have to create favourable conditions for our athlete's future, so IBA provided assistance through its Financial Support Programme to 50 nations to make their dreams come true," President Kremlev said.
