The Federation of International Bandy (FIB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP).

Attila Adamfi, the FIB's vice-president and acting general secretary, penned the agreement with CIFP President Jenő Kamuti in Budapest.

It means both organisations will now cooperate in the fields of sport, fair play and solidarity.

"We are honoured to have signed this agreement with CIFP and we are keen to work together with the Fair Play Committee on promoting and upholding their values and mission across all of our activities and championships," said Adamfi.

"This agreement represents a step forward to provide a level playing field for all of our members and our athletes in terms of solidarity and fair play and the development of the sport and our international relations."

Kamuti added: "The promotion of the values of fair play is extremely important to the International Fair Play Committee and therefore we are gracious to see FIB and the sport of bandy as a new partner in our mission.

"Dr Albert Szent-Györgyi, the Hungarian biochemist and Nobel Prize winner known for first isolating Vitamin C, believed sport itself teaches people the rules of fair play.

"I truly believe in this statement, and I am happy that more and more sports join in the promotion of our beliefs."
