Distinguished Recognition for Spyros Capralos in Krakow© HOC

The President of the European Olympic Committee (also serving as the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee) was honoured with the Honorary Gratia Medal by the City of Krakow for his contribution to the promotion and development of the city through the organization of the European Games held in the Polish city last summer.


This accolade bestowed upon Mr. Capralos is granted to individuals who stand out in contributing to the city of Krakow, Poland. He was awarded during the 7th European Athletes Forum and Assembly organized by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) and the Italian National Olympic Committee in Rome on the 6th and 7th of November.


"I would like to express my gratitude to the city of Krakow for this great honour. I have always felt welcomed in this city as a true citizen and have experienced the warmth, hospitality, and enthusiasm of its citizens throughout the duration of the Games, from their preparation to their conclusion. I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to all those who contributed to the great success of the European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023, which served as a springboard for a country aspiring to host future Olympic Games," stated Spyros Capralos after being honoured in Italy
