The competition, which will be held in the UAE from 16 April to 2 May, will be a step forward in the recognition of youth talent and a platform for the promotion of sport in the region.

The Bahrain Olympic Committee has announced its delegation for the inaugural Gulf Youth Games, to be held in the United Arab Emirates from 16 April to 2 May 2024. The team will be led by Ali Abdulaziz Janahi. He is an experienced board member.

The expedition leader will be Fajer Jassim, Board Member and Director of the Department of Arab and International Relations. The backbone of the delegation will be supported by the administrative team, including Chouf Al-Maloud, Hassan Jumaa, Ali Harouna and Youssef Hussein. Hassan Ali Ahmed, Ali Al-Halwachi, Hisham Jaafar, Ahmed Al-Hadar and Jaber Yahya will lead the media team.

Ali Abdulaziz Janahi thanked Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the confidence placed in him to lead the Bahraini delegation. Abdulaziz Janahi's words echoed the sentiment that the Gulf Youth Games is an important platform for the development of young talent. He stressed Bahrain's commitment to achieving a significant presence.

Fajer Jassim also expressed her gratitude for the confidence that Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has placed in her. Her role will be strengthened by the support and interest of the Secretary General, Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, who will ensure that the delegation is optimally prepared. 

Jassim reiterated the importance of the cooperation of the Department of International and Arab Relations, which has been working diligently with the UAE Olympic Committee and the GCC General Secretariat to finalise all the necessary preparations and arrangements.

The presence of Bahrain at the Games underlines the importance of Bahrain's efforts to have a significant participation in the inaugural edition of the Gulf Youth Games. It is clear that this will be a milestone in the development of youth sports in the region.
