Two-time world champion and Olympic silver medallist from Russia, Muslim Gadzhimagomedov, will fight for the WBA Bridgerweight title in a 12-round bout at the IBA Champions' Night in Serpukhov on Friday, 12 July 2024.


Muslim Gadzhimagomedov, who participated in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and won a silver medal in the 91kg category, will face an experienced opponent. China's Zhaoxin Zhang (12-2-1) will be a tough challenge for Gadzhimagomedov, who has already celebrated victories on the IBA Champions' Night.

In his last professional fight, the Russian defeated Germany's Artur Mann (20-3) for his third win. Zhaoxin Zhang has won two of his last three fights, including a KO victory over previously unbeaten Evgeny Romanov of Russia.

In the 12-round co-main event, the WBA Interim Super Featherweight title will be on the line as Russian Olympic gold medallist and IBA Pro World champion, unbeaten Albert Batyrgaziev (10-0), takes on experienced professional boxer Jono Carroll of Ireland (24-2-1). Batyrgaziev is ranked seventh in the WBA, while Carroll is ranked in the top two, having won his last six fights.

The undercard will also feature a number of exciting fights, including IBA World Championship bronze medallist Dmitry Dvali, who will take on World and Olympic champion Shakhobidin Zoirov of Uzbekistan in an eight-round bout at 53.5kg.

In addition to the headliners, there will be five other six-round bouts. Serpukhov-born Artem Ageev (5-0), representing Serbia, will take on Artjom Kasparian (10-0) of the Netherlands in the -80kg division. 

IBA World Championship bronze medallist Vladimir Mironchikov (4-0) from Serbia, born in Serpukhov, will fight Meysam Gheshlaghi (3-1) from Iran in the 80kg category. Artur Subkhankulov (6-0) of Russia will challenge Abeid Kessy Kasongo (15-0) of Tanzania in the -60kg category.

IBA World Championship silver medallist and experienced amateur boxer Vasilii Egorov of Russia will challenge Jesse Espinas (21-7) of the Philippines in the 51kg category.

The fights will take place at a special venue, the IBA Coliseum, which was built in Serpukhov, 105 km south of the capital Moscow, for the IBA Champions' Night.
