TrainingPeaks 06-03-12March 7 - British Cycling have appointed TrainingPeaks as their official training software supplier, providing athletes and coaches with a software programme for their training.

The software programme will analyse training, nutrition and daily metrics for the British cycling team, as well as British Cycling members.

Sports scientists and coaches will be able to analyse training data to improve their programmes, while members of British Cycling can work out preferred workouts and routes.

The TrainingPeaks technology can be used on iPads, Android devices and other web enabled mobile phones, with data being uploaded from a range of compatible devices including Garmin, Timex and SRM.

British Cycling's performance director, Dave Brailsford, said: "TrainingPeaks has everything you need in a data management system – from detailed analysis reports to easy-to-use web and mobile logging options for the riders.

"The programme will help the GB cycling team coaches and riders better understand what type of training drives success.

"It will also be of huge benefit to British Cycling members who want to get the most out of their riding."

The premium edition of the programme is enhanced by the VirtualCoach function, featuring graphs, charts and in depth analysis tools to formalise training plans.
