Felix Brych_20-04-12April 20 - The FIFA Referees Committee has confirmed the appointment of 84 officials from 36 countries to handle the men's and women's football tournaments at the London 2012 Olympics.

For the men's Olympic competition, 16 referees and 32 assistant referees have been selected from the six confederations – including Felix Brych (pictured) of Germany who took charge of the Chelsea-Barcelona Champions League semi-final first leg – while for the women's tournament, 12 referees and 24 assistant referees will be on duty.

Meanwhile, Englishman Howard Webb (pictured), who took charge of the World Cup final in 2010, will be the man in the middle for Monday's (April 23) Olympic qualifying playoff between Oman and Senegal in Coventry which will decide the final slot for the 16-strong men's finals, the draw for which will take place the next morning at Wembley.

Interestingly, Martin Atkinson – the official whose blunder was highlighted in last Sunday's Chelsea-Tottenham Hotspur FA Cup semi-final – will be Webb's fourth official.
