May 6 - Sochi 2014 has today confirmed that it is seeking to host the 2013 SportAccord Conference, the leading annual international sport business networking event that brings together 1,500 leading representatives from across international sport.

May 3 - Sochi plans to stockpile tonnes of snow in the build-up to the 2014 Olympics and Paralympics to ensure that they avoid some of the problems that overshadowed the Games in Vancouver earlier this year, the event's main official, Dmitry Chernyshenko (pictured), promised.

April 19 - Nodar Kumaritashvili (pictured) did commit "driving errors" before his fatal crash in a training run at the Vancouver Olympics but "no single reason" caused his death, a report published today by the International Luge Federation (FIL) has concluded.
