White and Kim top Winter Olympic rich-list

February 9 - American snowboarder Shaun White and South Korean figure skater Kim Yu-Na (pictured) are the highest-earning athletes competing here at the Winter Olympics with sponsorship deals amounting to $7.5 million (£4.7 million) a year, a new study published in Forbes magazine has revealed.


Rogge claims Lee has been properly punished

February 8 - Lee Kun-hee, the convicted South Korean criminal who the International Olympic Committee (IOC) yesterday reinstated as a member, has been treated just as harshly as an athlete who tests positive for banned drugs, Jacques Rogge (pictured) claimed here today.







Warning Russian changes could affect international influence

February 2 - All eyes will be turning East at the end of his month's Olympics as the Mayor of Sochi receives the Olympic Flag from his Vancouver counterpart  during the Games closing ceremony on February 28 but fears are growing that the build-up to first Winter Games to be held in Russia could be affected by changes at the top of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
