Following yesterday’s 3-1 victory over hosts and defending champions Australia, Britain beat South Korea 5-3 and Germany 6-1 at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre.

Australia, meanwhile, bounced back from their defeats to Britain and Brazil to overcome Thailand 7-1.

All the home nation’s goals came in the first-half with Amy Ridley scoring a hat-trick, Molly Smith finding the net twice, and Genevieve Weston and Alana Tiller chipping in with one apiece.

Thailand were also beaten by Brazil, who made it two wins out of two and are level on six points with South Korea.

Monica Santos was instrumental in securing maximum points for the South Americans, racking up six goals in an 11-1 victory.

In the boys' event, Thailand recovered from their 15-8 loss to Sweden yesterday by defeating Brazil 7-3 and South Korea 6-1.

They are level on six points with Sweden and Brazil, whose other match today ended in an 11-1 victory at the expense of winless hosts Australia.

Poland also inflicted an 11-1 defeat on Australia, with all the goals coming in the first-half to end the game early.

Round-robin action is due to run through to Thursday (August 8).

The top four teams in the two tournaments will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled to be held on Friday (August 9) and immediately followed by the medal matches.
