After receiving a certification, which acknowledged COC as a top employer, it was this week ranked 35th in the category of organisations employing between 100 and 999 people.

Great Place to Work calculated its annual rankings based off the 2019 Trust Index survey results, as well as other assessments.

"Based on direct feedback about their workplace experience, COC employees feel respected at work, enjoy their job, and feel pride in what they do," said a COC statement.

"The COC has focused on fostering a purpose-led and high-performance culture by creating powerful opportunities to grow and develop professionally and bring fun and creativity into work every day.

"Employees also get the opportunity to be part of the mission team during the Youth Olympic, Pan American and Olympic Games as well as travel nationally and internationally."

COC chief executive and secretary general David Shoemaker added: "It is great to see that the dedication and commitment of our leaders and staff has helped foster a work environment now being recognised as one of the very best in Canada.

"This past month has further proven what we are capable of doing as a team under any circumstance.

"I am very proud of the work culture that we have built together which is based on our core shared values of accountability, bravery, excellence, fun and respect."

The COC employs 114 permanent members of staff from its three offices in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
