Hungary’s Kristztina David had led the standings after qualification, but it was Turkey’s Aysel Ozgan who made the early pace in the final and held a 1.1 point advantage after 22 shots.

With little time remaining, Nakovska-Bikova then produced the shots which took her to gold with a total score of 232.3, ahead of Ozgan’s 231.5. 

Another Turkish shooter, Aysegui Pehlivanlar finished with 210.4 in third.

"After a long period of the COVID-19 crisis, this was one of the best events for me," Nakovska-Bikova said.

"Every medal is a new experience, but now I’ll prepare for the world championship, where I expect to get a quota for Paris 2024," she added.

The 2019 men’s air pistol champion Tomas Pesek of the Czech Republic found himself behind Poland’s Tokyo Paralympic silver medallist Szymon Sowinski and Kacper Pierzynski in the early stages of the final of the men's 10m.

Pesek then seized the lead with the 21st shot of the final and finished with a total of 229.2 points for gold.

Pyrzynski shot 226.2 for silver and Sowinski was forced to settle for bronze with a score of 208.0.

"I’m not entirely satisfied because there were many bad shots today, but in the end, it was a good competition and I’m happy with this title after being world champion in 2019,"  Pesek said.

In the 10m rifle mixed team standing event, Slovakia’s Veronika Vadovicova and Radoslav Malenovsky defeated Emilia Babska and Marek Dobrowolski to win gold.  

Vadovicova had also won individual gold on the first day of the championship in the prone event.

In the bronze medal match, Turkey’s Suzan Cevik and Erhan Coskuner beat Katerina Fountoulaki and Sotirios Galogavros to claim the bronze.
