Dominican Republic’s Meclao’ produced a stunning performance in their final Pool A fixture to upset competition first seed BFG at the World Flying Disc Federation's World Ultimate Club Championships here at the Lebanon Sports Complex.

In the highly tense mixed team affair, Anthony McLean led Meclao’ with three goals and two assists to stun the Americans 14-12.

It means Meclao’ advance to the pre-quarter-finals top of the pool at the Ohio venue.

Second, third and fourth seeds Hybrid, Seattle Mixtape and NOISE, who are all from the host nation, got over the line to secure their spots as the top seeds in Pool C, Pool D and Pool E.

Hybrid swept aside Eintracht Frankfurt, beating their German opponents 15-8, while Seattle Mixtape defeated Italy’s Alligators Masi 15-6.

NOISE recorded a 15-7 victory to overcome Panama’s Two Oceans.

GRUT of The Netherlands completed the round as the dominant force thanks to a 15-8 triumph over Colombia’s Zen Ultimate Club.

Australia’s Lunch Box Ultimate Club sealed their fifth consecutive win after besting Denmark’s Njord 15-7.

Finland’s Pussin Tiristäjät maintained continued to show their authority after cementing a 15-9 triumph against W.underteam of Austria.

Some of the standout results in the crossovers include Alligators Masi dominating Italy's CUSB Red Shot 15-5 and Britain's Deep Space bettering Belgium's Owls UC 15-12.

In Pool I of the women's division, the US' Fury extended their winning streak to seven to secure first while Japan's TOKYO Maverick showed their class to come runners-up.

The Japanese side responded to their 15-9 loss to the Americans by defeating compatriots MUD 13-10 and Canada's Traffic 15-13.

Colombia's Revolution impressed once again as they completed another three victories in Pool J, beating the US's Chicago Nemesis 15-10, Canada's Iris 15-11 and Japan's Swampybarg 15-9.

JinX were also among the women's teams to be flawless on day four thanks to 15-10, 15-9 and 15-14 triumphs over Britain's Spice Ultimate, Colombia's Bamboo and the US' Nightlock.

Pool P saw Colombia's Aerosoul take first on head-to-head following a 12-10 victory versus Japan's HUCK, who finished second.

The US' Raleigh Phoenix progressed top of Pool L while their compatriots Parcha and Canada's Fusion achieved the same feat in Pool M.

Two pools are yet to be completed with Britain's Iceni in the strongest position to seal the top spot in Pool Q and Switzerland's FABulous the number one ranked team in Pool R.

Meanwhile, the open tournament was filled with drama as Australia's Melbourne Ellipsis surged to first in Pool N thanks to 15-14, 15-12 and 14-13 wins over Colombia's URO Monster, Ireland's Ranelagh and compatriots Wildcats.

The US' Raleigh Ring of Fire reigned supreme in Pool I after besting Japan's Nomadic Tribe 15-9, Canada's GOAT 15-13 and Britain's Clapham Ultimate 15-13.

Denmark's Københavns Frisbee Klub edged the Pool O first seed over Britain's Alba on head-to-head thanks to a 15-12 win against their opponents.

Seattle Sockeye, representing the US, fended off the challenge of Japan's Buzz Bullets to seal the number one rank.

The Americans pierced their rivals' defences enough to claim a 15-11 triumph.

Sunder of Australia continued their form to finish their campaign in Pool J as the dominating force and PoNY, who competes for the host nation, carried on the same trend to complete Pool K top.

Rascals bagged three wins from three to conclude Pool M as its invincible team while Canada's Furious George proved too tough to beat in Pool P.

Similarly to the women's division, Pool Q and Pool R are yet to be completed with Switzerland's Freespeed leading the former and Australia's Melbourne Juggernaut having the bets advantage in the latter.

The WFDF World Club Ultimate Championships is scheduled to continue tomorrow where the playoffs are set to begin in all three events.
