Norway and The Netherlands claimed the men's and women's titles at the first Beach Volleyball World Pro Tour event of the season, in Doha.

In the men's semi-finals, Norwegians Anders Mol and Christian Sørum defeated Adrian Carambula and Alex Ranghieri of Italy in three games 21-16, 18-21, 15-12.

They faced David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig of Sweden, who made the final with a 21-16, 21-18 win against Michał Bryl and Bartosz Łosiak of Poland.

In the match for gold, Olympic and world champions Mol and Sørum lived up to expectations, winning 21-19, 21-19 against the Swedish players.

The Italians defeated Poland 22-20, 22-20 for the bronze.

Dutch duo Katja Stam and Raïsa Schoon defeated Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar of Australia 21-19, 21-19 in the semi-finals, while Nina Brunner and Tanja Hüberli from Switzerland won 21-16, 22-20 Anastasija Samoilova and Tina Graudina of Latvia.

Stam and Schoon won the gold medal, coming from a set down to beat Brunner and Hüberli 20-22, 21-14, 15-11.

Clancy and Mariafe achieved the same feat in the bronze-medal game, winning 12-21, 21-15, 15-10 against the Latvians.
