Neutral athletes Bashir Adzhiev and Mariia Voroshilina both clinched gold medals on the penultimate day of the World Taekwondo Cadet Championships in Sarajevo.

Adzhiev prevailed first at the Arena Hotel Hills as he won a back-and-forth duel with Italy's Abderrahman Touiar 2-1.

They were joined on the men's under-172-centimetre podium by Mexican Kenai Hernandez and Mirabbass Hosseinyfar of Iran.

Voroshilina then snapped up the women's under-164cm title by a similarly slender score, beating Iranian Heliya Ebrahimiyan 2-1.

Semi-final losers Linda Victoria Rodriguez of Mexico and Spaniard Paula Mora took the bronze medals due to making the last four.

The first men's gold of the day, in the under-168cm category, went the way of Rodriguez's compatriot Guillermo Manuel Cortes who beat Ukrainian Kiril Kuznietsov with ease by a 2-0 scoreline.

Rozhan Soufi clinched the first of two Iranian medals today in Bosnia and Herzegovina as she inflicted another final loss to a Ukrainian.

This time it was Polina Tupchii who tasted defeat in the women's under-168cm decider by two points to one.

The bronzes were won by Thai athlete Napassakorn Sritimongkol and Chinese Taipei's Chieh-ling Wang.

Seyedeh Kimia Mohammadi then replicated her compatriot's success with a 2-1 win over Iranian Heliya Ebrahimiyan in the women's under-164cm final.

Croatia's Sofija Hinić and Frenchwoman Sofia Frassica made up the podium in joint-third place.

The Championships are set to conclude tomorrow with men's under-176cm, under-180cm, and over-180cm categories as well as the women's under-176cm and over-176cm tournaments.
