Barranquilla Caimanes, led by Brazilian pitcher Daniel Missaki, won the Colombian Professional Baseball League title for the 13th time in the club's long history.

Barranquilla Caimanes claimed the Colombian Professional Baseball League title with a convincing 4-1 victory over defending champions Montería Vaqueros in a best-of-seven final series. The decisive match at the 18 de Junio stadium ended 2-0.

With this latest title, the team from the Colombian capital has won 13 championships in the Colombian Professional Baseball League. Brazilian pitcher Daniel Missaki was named the MVP of the final series. 

He picked up two of the Caimanes' four wins and closed out the fifth game, playing a key role in manager José Mosquera's team. Mosquera had also coached the Colombian national team to a bronze medal at the 2021 WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup.

It is worth noting that Caimanes and Vaqueros reached the final series after finishing in the first and second positions, respectively, in the four-team regular season. The Caimanes finished with a record of 26-15, while the Vaqueros went 20-21. 

After winning the title, the Caimanes of Barranquilla were due to represent Colombia in the Intercontinental Professional Baseball Series, which was to be held at the Édgar Rentería Stadium from 26 January to 1 February. However, the event has been cancelled, according to a press release from Team Rentería USA, the organisers and promoters of the Intercontinental Baseball Series.

Caimanes-Vaqueros: 3-2.

Vaqueros-Caimanes: 9-3.

Caimanes-Vaqueros: 18-2.
