On November 27-30 of this year, the prestigious "Uzbekistan Open" international tournament in taekwondo (WT) at the "G2" level was held in Tashkent.

The Olympic Channel Services and the European Taekwondo Union (ETU) have signed an Agreement for the exclusive media rights for live coverage on Olympics.com and on olympics social media handles of the European Qualification Tournament for PARIS 2024, that will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria in March 2024. The parties also discussed further cooperation for the future EQTs throughout time.

As expected, Australian taekwondo fighters took half of 16 gold medals in the Taekwondo tournament of the Pacific Games in Solomon Islands. In women’s competition Juliet Lahood (49 kg), Stacey Hymer (57 kg), Rebecca Murray (67 kg) and Reba Stewart (+73) didn’t give any chance to their opponents. In men’s competition Benjamin Camua (59 kg), Matthew Summerfield (68 kg), Liam Sweeney (80 kg) and Tyrone Staben (87 kg) won the champions’ titles. 

Taekwondo stars from around the globe today delivered magnificent performances at the Grand Prix Final Manchester 2023, with athletes from Belgium, Côte d'Ivoire and Korea emerging victorious in the electric conclusion to the season.

The last day of the 2023 IBA World Junior Championships in Mika sport complex in Yerevan started not the way the home crowd wanted. 

Taekwondo’s finest athletes, coaches and officials were today recognised at the World Taekwondo 2023 Gala Awards, marking a fitting conclusion to an extraordinary season.  The Gala Awards serve as a celebration of excellence, recognising outstanding athletes, coaches and officials who have left their mark on the global Taekwondo stage throughout the year. 

One of the main questions of day two of Tokyo Grand Slam 2023 was if Hifumi and Uta Abes could win their next tournament. Since 2018 they have won together the 2020 Olympic Games, 2018, 2022 and 2023 World Championships, various Grand Slam titles. And the answer to the question was quite predictable - yes.

Luis Moreno Garcia of Venezuela had a moment of joy during the World Combat Games this October. He was the first Para athlete to win the gold medal of the games by defeating Moldova’s Oleg Nemtan 7-0 in the final of the -79kg Men’s Blind SAMBO category.

2023 IBA World Junior Championships are close to the end, as the first 13 final fights took place today in Mika sport complex in Yerevan. And most of the gold medals will go to Russia as their five finalists out of six took the gold medals. 

From November 23-26 the European Ju-Jitsu Championship was held in Croatia’s capital Zagreb. The European strongest competitors fought for 32 gold medals. Germany was the strongest team after the end of the championship with 6 gold medals. France was the leader in overall medals - 18, but they managed to claim only 3 gold medals. Israel and Slovenia won 4 gold medals, Sweden and Netherlands 3.

The International Sambo Federation (FIAS) announced their official calendar for 2024. Kazakhstan will become one of the Sambo centres in 2024. Their capital Astana will host the World championship from November 8-10, and Aktau will host Asia and Oceania Sambo Youth and master championships. The European Sambo championships will be held in Serbia’s Novi Sad from May 9-10, a day later the EuropeanYouth and Junior Sambo championship will start.

The opening day of the World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final Manchester 2023 dazzled spectators with jaw-dropping action and performances, culminating in athletes from Italy, Thailand, Hungary, China and Korea securing gold.

Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov established himself as the main contender for the Paris 2024 gold medal on the first day of the 2023 Tokyo Grand Slam. 

On December 2-3 2023 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final will be held in Manchester. A day earlier the 2023 World Para Taekwondo Grand Prix Finals took place again in Manchester. World’s best para taekwondoins were competing for one of the prestigious titles of the year.
