Molten's BG4500 series basketball has been adopted as the official basketball for the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) in the United States.

"Molten is very excited to launch the new BG4500 composite basketball series in partnership with the NWBA," Melissa Dawson, President of Molten USA, said.

2We are working very closely with the NWBA National Office for a seamless transition through the upcoming months.

"Molten takes pride in working with all the athletes of the NWBA in their quest to become their best and wishes all divisions continued success on the court.2

Last year, the NWBA piloted Molten’s composite basketball from its prior product lineup, the GG7X, for its top adult division - Division I).

The feedback from the teams competing in Division 1 was overwhelmingly positive, the NWBA claim.

Based on this feedback, the NWBA intended to move the entire Association to the composite basketball.

The NWBA will adopt the B7G 4500 across the adult divisions  - I, II & III) - and Varsity - Junior Division - while the women’s division will utilize the B6G 4500.

"We value Molten’s commitment to product innovation and bringing the best product forward to help our athletes do what they do best: put the ball in the hoop," Will Waller, the chief executive of the NWBA, said.

"Our decision to move to a composite ball for training and competition is a direct result of member feedback, as is the timing of making the change during team and member registration."
