Norway finished top of the medals table at the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) World Championships here through victory in the women's team pattern on the final day, and were joined on five golds by Ireland.

The Norwegian team of Stine Hauge Iversen, Ann Linnea Hole, Hanna Miller, Anne Maria Andresen, Tina Katrin Holten and Rita Moseng Sivertsvik triumphed in their event, overcoming Argentina 3-1 in the final.

Canada and Poland took the bronzes.

Norway finished with five golds, four silvers and six bronzes.

Their superior bronze medal tally helped them finish above Ireland, who also earned five golds and four silvers but only two third-place finishes.

Ireland added a further two victories on the final day in the women's and men's team sparring events.

Ciara Fitzsimons, Abi Hickey, Sarah Reddin Conroy, Sarah Lehane, Antonia Szanto and Christine Franks combined to take the women's title, overcoming Argentina 10-7 in the final, with Norway and Poland earning bronzes.

On the men's side, Ireland's team comprised of Finn Martin, James Tuite, Luke Moriarty, Shane Tuite, Bartosz Bien and Leard Xheladini, and they thrashed Sweden 26-3 in the final.

Finland and Germany completed the podium.

Malaysia also won gold on the final day of the ITF World Championships, doubling their tally in the men's team pattern.

Jian Yang Wong, Jung Wei Wong, Wei Yang Chen, Hoong Wai Lee, Chun Weng Wong and Kean Piew See won the final 4-1 against Norway, with Italy and Argentina placing joint third.

Poland were the other winners on the final day in the women's team special technique.

Their team featured Martyna Pietrzeniec, Nikola Wita, Monika Kowalczyk, Zuzanna Gadzała, Katarzyna Janiszewska and Natalia Olszak.

They earned nine points in the final to take gold, with Romania earning silver with six and Argentina bronze with four.

The ITF World Championships returned for the first time since 2019, and also included competition in the junior category for athletes aged 15 to 17 and pre-junior bracket for those aged 12 to 14.

Argentina topped the Junior World Championships medals table with seven golds, and Romania led the Pre-Junior World Championships standings with six victories.
