India won a record-extending fifth title at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 Cricket World Cup as they sealed a four-wicket victory against England at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda.

India were led by sensational bowling performances from Raj Bawa and Ravi Kumar as England looked for their first trophy in the tournament since 1998.

Bawa took five wickets for 31 runs, while Kumar sent four batsmen walking at the cost of 34 runs.

Bawa's wickets included dismissing George Bell for a golden duck after tricking him with a rare short ball which was edged straight to the wicketkeeper.

Shaik Rasheed and Nishant Sindhu helped to power India past England's 189-run total as they both posted a half-century.

England were reduced to 91-7 before getting all out for 189 in 44.5 overs.

James Rew was England's standout batter by some distance as he hit an impressive 95 from 116.

It was India's fourth consecutive final after finishing runner-up to Bangladesh in 2020, beating Australia in 2018 and falling short against West Indies in 2016.

Australia came third overall after getting the better of Afghanistan in the third-place playoff at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.

It was an impressive all-round performance from Nivethan Radhakrishnan that fired the three-time champions to a two-wicket win.

Chennai-born Radhakrishnan took three wickets for 31 runs to limit Afghanistan to 201 all out before notching a half-century in the chase.

It was a nervy finish for Australia but they eventually scored the required 202 runs to win with five balls to spare.

Afghanistan matched their previous best finish at the tournament which came in 2018.
